Pack Compression Stockings in Your Carry-On

Varicose vein treatment is a terrific way to assist you in taking care of vein problems that have developed over time. However, prevention of vein problems is always a better option than vein treatment whenever it is possible. There are many different things that you can do on a daily basis to maximize your prevention of varicose and spider veins. And then there are things that you don’t do on a daily basis, but you should remember to do them whenever the opportunity arises. One of those things is to make sure to wear compression stockings whenever you take an airplane flight.

Compression stockings don’t need to be worn by everyone who is flying, but you’d be surprised at how many people can benefit from wearing them. An article over at EarthTimes last month took a look at a study that showed who was at high risk of in-flight clotting. The under-30 crowd may not be too happy to discover that they are on that list. Also on the list is anyone who is of abnormally tall or short stature, persons who are overweight, and women who are taking birth control pills. There are varying reasons that each of these groups is susceptible to increased risk of vein problems associated with flying, but the cure is the same for all of them: compression stockings.

Of course, since you don’t wear compression stockings on a daily basis, you are wont to forget them when the time comes for a trip. The best way to avoid doing this is to keep a pair in every bag that you might use as carry-on luggage. When you go to get out the bag and pack for your trip, you’ll see the compression stockings and remember to wear them. When you’re avoiding vein treatment because of this kind of prevention, you’ll be glad that you made the extra effort.
