Vascular Associates of Northern Virginia, P.C. is focused on providing high quality comprehensive vascular surgical care to the residents of Northern Virginia. The practice was started over 10 years ago and is comprised of two board certified vascular surgeons. A full time vascular diagnostic laboratory is on-site to assist in the care of our patients. We specialize in all types of vascular disorders including aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), varicose veins, spider veins, and deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Our treatments range from the latest minimally invasive endovascular techniques (EVAR, angioplasty, EVLT, sclerotherapy) to traditional open surgical procedures.
Dr. Podolsky has practiced Vascular Surgery in Northern Virginia since 1996. He completed his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine and did a residency in General Surgery. Dr. Podolsky is Board Certified in Vascular Surgery after completing a fellowship at University of Massachusetts. He has received many honors, including being selected for the Washingtonian Top Doctors Award multiple times and Consumer Research Council of America's Top Surgeon award for 2009. He sits on many hospital committees and is a member of several medical societies.
Dr. Sahgal has practiced Vascular Surgery in the Northern Virginia area since 2003. He completed his medical degree at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and did a residency in General Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Sahgal completed his Vascular Surgery fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio and is Board Certified in Vascular Surgery. Dr. Sahgal has earned many honors including being named Consumer Research Council of America's Top Surgeon for 2009 and being listed in the Global Directory of Who's Who in 2005. He has also authored several papers on vascular disease in peer reviewed journals.
We provide comprehensive care for varicose veins and spider veins, including consultation, complete physical examination, and venous reflux diagnostic examination. Treatment options include compression stockings, endovenous laser ablation therapy (EVLT), vein stripping, ambulatory phlebectomy, sclerotherapy, and foam sclerotherapy.
