The physicians of the South Florida Laser Vein Center, David Epstein M.D, Neal Joseph, MD, and Michael Cohn, MD have a combined experience of over 42 years in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease, including venous thrombophlebitis, venous access and varicose vein disorders. The South Florida Laser Vein Center is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, and utilizes the most advanced diagnostic equipment and state of the art methods for treatment of varicose veins and spider veins. All procedures are performed in our comfortable outpatient office. Following procedures, our patients are up and walking immediately and can promptly resume nearly all usual activities.
Physicians' Background
Dr. Epstein is the founder and director of the SouthFloridaLaserVeinCenter. He received his M.D. degree from NorthwesternUniversity, and came to Florida in 1989 from the University of Minnesota where as a fellow and instructor in cardiovascular radiology, he conducted research in the treatment of venous disease. Dr. Epstein has extensive experience in the fields of invasive and noninvasive vascular assessment and minimally invasive vascular intervention. Dr. Epstein is a recent President of the Florida Radiological Society, and has been elected Fellow of the AmericanCollege of Radiology. He previously served for five years as president of the South Florida Society of Interventional Radiology, and six years on the Broward County Medical Association Board of Directors and Board of Censors. Dr. Epstein is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the AmericanCollege of Phlebology, both societies dedicated to the advancement of treatment of vascular diseases.He has served on the clinical faculty at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine, and is a regular faculty member of the annual International Vein Congress. Dr. Cohn graduated from the University of Miami, School of Medicine in 1994 and completed his post graduate training in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology at Hospital University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Joseph graduated from University of Illinois School of Medicine in 1980 and completed his post graduate training in angiography, computed tomography and ultrasound at Northwestern University.

Endoluminal laser ablation (or ELA) is a new state-of-the-art minimally invasive procedure that has essentially eliminated the need for surgery in patients with varicose veins. The procedure, performed in less than one hour with no need for recovery time, uses a new FDA approved laser to eliminate the source of the large varicose veins in the leg.
