Gregory D. Martin, MD, FACS, ABS

Dr. Martin has outstanding credentials having been in the field of surgery since 1986.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is only one of eight physicians in the state of Georgia who is certified by the American Board of Phlebology in the inaugural year of this certification in 2008.  He has a strong general surgery background and has developed a sub-specialty interest in the last decade in state of the art varicose vein and spider vein treatment.  He completed his surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, in addition to attending medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  He was in practice in the Atlanta area until 2002 when he relocated to the South and Southeast Georgia areas.  Dr. Martin is devoted to his vein practice full time and has the most up to date treatments for spider and varicose veins which give outstanding symptom relief as well as preventing recurrence.  As venous medicine has been overlooked in previous years, it has now been revolutionized with dramatically more effective treatment options.  Dr. Martin is among the most experienced vein medicine and surgery physicians in the world and is on the front wave of training in the  present state-of-the art techniques. 

Treatment for vein problems have advanced dramatically over the past 5 years. Dr. Martin uses only the best proven therapies in treating veins. These include laser closure of large veins, injection therapy and minimally invasive surgical treatments. There are two treatments for spider veins, laser ablation and sclerotherapy. Most patients benefit from a combination of both treatments thereby ensuring the best results.
