Dr. John Oren, a Board-Certified surgeon, is dedicated to the treatment of venous disease in his state-of-the-art vein treatment center located in South Bend, IN.
Dr. Oren has trained extensively in the latest minimally invasive laser techniques in the treatment of varicose and spider veins. All procedures are performed in-office with minimal downtime and associated pain.
Graduating with both his undergraduate and medical degree from Indiana University, Dr. Oren then completed his General Surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in 1985. After returning to his hometown of South Bend, he became board-certified by the American board of surgery and opened a solo surgical practice in 1985 and then joined three other surgeons to form General Vascular Surgery, P.C. in 1987.
Dr. Oren has had leadership roles as Chairman of Board of Select Health Network, Chairman Contracting Committee of Select Health Network, board member of Partners, and Premier Medical Group. In 1997, Dr. Oren was instrumental in creating Allied Physicians of Michiana, and then went on to form Allied Physician Surgicenter with 50 other specialists in 2000.
In addition to his outstanding surgical experience, Dr. Oren has had an ongoing interest in Venous Disease and is skilled in endovenous laser and radiofrequency ablative procedures, along with the Transilluminated Powered Phlebectomy (TIPP) procedure. He's also experienced in treating spider veins with both foam and traditional sclerotherapy and has a special interest in persistent venous ulceration after ablative or stripping procedures.
Spider Vein Treatments include Sclerotherapy and Laser Therapy. Varicose Vein Treatments include: EndoVenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy (Chemical Ablation) and Conservative Therapy, which involves compression stockings.Treartment of venous ulcers is a special interest.
