Paula M. Muto, M.D. , F.A.C.S.
Dr. Muto is a local person having grown up in Andover and has returned to the community to carry on her father's legacy. She is a Cum Laude graduate of Phillips Academy Andover, Magna Cum Laude from Amherst College, with a B.A. in Neuroscience and English. After graduating AOA from New York Medical College, she trained in General Surgery at Tufts -New England Medical Center, Boston. She completed a vascular fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Muto is a Registered Vascular Technologist, a member of many professional organizations including the American Vascular Society, the New England Society for Vascular Surgery, Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the Association of Women Surgeons. She has participated in many national meetings both as presenter and as moderator. Having exceptional training in both vascular and general surgery has allowed Dr. Muto to be proficient in complex surgical techniques as well as minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery. She is dedicated to the improvement of women's health including the treatment and screening for breast and colon cancer as well as peripheral vascular disease and stroke prevention. Her commitment to limb preservation led her to establish one of the first centers for wound care in the Merrimack Valley offering patients some of the newest techniques in venous and arterial surgery. Dr. Muto has been in solo private practice for nearly 10 years and is personally invested in the care of every patient. Along with her staff, her goal is to provide easy, prompt access to surgical consultation. Jonathan K. Gordon, M.D. , F.A.C.S.
Dr. Gordon is originally from New Jersey; he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University then went onto New York Medical College. After training in General Surgery at Boston University Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Boston VA Medical Center. Dr. Gordon remained in academic medicine as an assistant professor in surgery until 2000 when he entered private practice with Vascular Associates of the Merrimack Valley. In 2003, he joined his wife and father-in-law in private practice. He is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and by the Board of Preventive and Hyperbaric Medicine. He is also a Registered Vascular Technologist. Dr. Gordon is Chief of Surgery at Lawrence General Hospital, Chief of Trauma at Caritas Holy Family Hospital, as well as Medical Director of both the Center for Wound Healing in Lowell and the wound clinic at Caritas Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, Massachusetts.
Dr. Gordon is a well trained general and vascular surgeon with expertise in wound care and the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease. He is also an experienced laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeon offering patients screening colonoscopy for cancer detection as well as minimally invasive surgery for cancer treatment.
