Summit Skin and Vein Care located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, provides comprehensive evaluation and management of lower leg problems related to poor vein circulation. Diagnosing a vein condition requires having an ultrasound exam. The exam lets us visualize which veins need treatment and which ones are still working. 

Our office performs Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) which is a minimally invasive procedure performed in our clinic. It is a better alternative to the surgical stripping of years past. Using only a mild sedative and local anesthesia, a small needle is used to insert the laser fiber into the affected vein. The laser fiber generates heat causing the vein to seal shut. Following the procedure, compression hose and a small bandage are placed on the treated leg. 

We also offer Free Duplex Screenings on a daily basis to heighten patient’s awareness of vein disease. These free screenings are offered because venous disease is not always visible and also because most private imaging centers and hospitals fail to evaluate the superficial venous system during routine venous doppler exams. 

We use sclerotherapy to treat both large varicose and small spider veins. With this procedure, veins can be dealt with at an early stage, to help prevent further complications. Laser therapy is used to treat blue veins (i.e. reticular veins), and smaller red spider veins.
