The NYU VEIN CENTER comprises seven vascular surgeons, offering expert care for the treatment of varicose veins. All of our surgeons stress the minimally invasive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins. As part of the NYU Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, we are called upon to teach our techniques to other surgeons around the world.

Lowell S. Kabnick, M.D., Director of NYU Vein Center, is a world-renowned surgeon-teacher whose patient-centered approach to vein care has enabled the creation and improvement of many of today's most advanced noninvasive vascular surgery techniques.
Recognized by his peers as an international authority on the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease, Dr. Kabnick was the first vascular surgeon in the United States to perform the ClosureTM (radiofrequency) procedure and the VenaCureTM (laser) procedure--two recently approved breakthrough technologies for treating the underlying causes of many varicose vein problems. Because of Dr. Kabnick's achievements, and his reputation as a personable and scholarly caregiver, he not only attracts patients locally, but also nationally and internationally.
Highly sought after as a consultant and teacher by medical societies the world over, he has consistently been recognized as one of the areas Top Doctors and has recently been listed in the guide to Americas Top Surgeons.
A graduate with Special Honors from the George Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Kabnick received his postdoctoral training at New York University, Bellevue Hospital, and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, followed by Advanced Vascular Fellowship studies at the prestigious Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York.
A member of the American Medical Association, American College of Phlebology, American College of Surgery, American Venous Forum, and the Society of Vascular Surgery, Dr. Kabnick limits his practice exclusively to venous diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Kabnick is Board Certified in Phlebology by the American Board of Phlebology.
