The Center for Advanced Vein Therapy is a unique and highly specialized medical practice that is committed to providing our patients with compassionate, complete, and state of the art, minimally invasive management for the full range of circulation disorders, both arterial and venous in origin. Under the experienced medical direction of David E. Cohen, M.D, patients with varicose veins, venous ulcers, or other venous disorders are offered complete consultative evaluations, advanced in-office ultrasound diagnostics, and cutting edge, highly innovative therapies using endovenous laser, phlebectomy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, and cosmetic sclerotherapy. All of our services are provided in the convenience and comfort of our spacious, modern office.

Dr. Cohen's particular expertise in endovenous laser is widely known in the medical community. Physicians and surgeons from all around the Northeastern USA have visited Dr. Cohen's office to learn his laser techniques.

Dr. Cohen is one of only thirteen doctors in the entire state of New Jersey who is Board Certified in Phlebology (Vein Disease).

Dr. David Cohen received his B.A. from Wesleyan University, and received his M.D. from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his medical internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan, and then completed his cardiology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He then spent a year in interventional cardiology training at Westchester Medical Center (New York Medical College). He went into practice in West Paterson, N.J. in 1986 as an interventional cardiologist. In 1997 he completed additional training in Peripheral Vascular Intervention at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, in Boston. After 20 years as an esteemed interventional cardiologist, Dr. Cohen established Circulatory Care of New Jersey and the Center for Advanced Vein Therapy and has stopped delivering cardiac care in order to permit a greater commitment to treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and vein diseases.

In 2008, Dr. Cohen became one of the first physicians in the state of New Jersey to become Board-Certified in Phlebology, which is the field of vein disease. Only thirteen doctors in New Jersey are currently Board-Certified in Phlebology. Dr. Cohen is also Board-Certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine, with certification in Endovascular Medicine. He is also Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow in the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, Past-President New Jersey Society of Interventional Cardiology. He was the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center ( Paterson, N.J.) for many years. He also works at Valley Hospital (Ridgewood, N.J.).

Dr. Cohen is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York University Medical Center in the Division of Cardiology.

As public interest in this work has grown, Dr. Cohen has been the subject of a number of news stories on television and print over the last few years. Patients from around the country, and even from overseas, have traveled to receive care from Dr. Cohen. Physicians and surgeons have traveled from around the country to learn advanced techniques from Dr. Cohen. 

We offer expert clinical consultations, tailoring the care to each patient's clinical problems and goals of treatment.  Our full time, ICAVL-certified, ultrasound diagnostic laboratory offers highly detailed and expert evaluation of every patient.  Our skills and experience in endovenous laser treatment is unrivaled, with physicians travelling from around the region for laser from Dr. Cohen.  We also offer ambulatory phlebectomy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, and cosmetic sclerotherapy services.
