California Vein Treatment

California was the first to establish vein clinics in the country. Vein clinics have been in existence in most cities and towns of California for over 15 years. Most of the vein clinics offer treatment for both varicose and spider veins.

Spider veins

Spider veins can be treated with either sclerotherapy or laser. Sclerotherapy is now falling out of favor as laser is a much superior treatment. Sclerotherapy, however, is also a useful technique but does requires multiple injections. Each spider vein has to be injected. Laser on the other hand does not require injections and is a much faster procedure. Both procedures require multiple sessions spaced over a few weeks. Laser can also be used to treat spider veins on the face.

Varicose veins

Varicose veins can be treated by several techniques. The recent availability of the minimally invasive procedures is fast replacing vein stripping as the procedure of choice. Endovenous laser and the Closure procedure both involve inserting a small probe into the vein and burning it away. Individuals who have had these procedures remain satisfied with the procedure but the occasional individual does develop skin burns. The other methods of treating spider veins include stripping and stabs.

For those who prefer a conservative method, compression stockings can prevent varicose and spider veins.

None of the methods can cure nor prevent recurrences of either spider or varicose veins.

The cost of treating spider or varicose veins in California is variable and ranges from $ 200-500, depending on the severity and technique used.
