Over the years, the plus sized women have had little choice when it came to the selection of compression hosiery. Only heavy and thick compression garments were available not so long ago. Almost every type of product that is available for a regular female is now available for the large sized female. Many manufacturers now make support socks and stockings in all designs and fashions for the plus sized female. Most plus sized hosiery have extra seams and ribbed edges to ensure that the garment does not roll of the legs or the waist.

Plus sized hosiery is available in all sizes taking in consideration one's weight and height. Most are form fitting and pleasant to wear. The graduated compression prevents leg swelling and helps fight the worsening of varicose veins. Most plus sized hose also have an extra sole at the heel base to allow for pressure tolerance and increase the durability of the socks. Many hosiery are also impregnated with antimicrobial particles which prevent the foul odor in the feet.

The fact that the hosiery is large does not mean that it is unattractive. There are numerous plus sized products which are very sexy and elegant. The only negative aspect about plus sized support hosiery is that they cost a little more.
