Varicose Vein Treatments

If you experience varicose veins, there are a variety of varicose vein treatments that are available to you. These problematic veins appear in the leg and can become enlarged and usually quite lumpy. When the valves that control the flow of blood inside the vein quit working, the result is a varicose vein. This stoppage prevents the blood from flowing down the leg after it has been pumped up the leg when activity of the leg muscles. The breakdown of the valves causes the blood to gather where the weakness in the wall of the vein exists causing the large swelling that is prevalent.

Treatments

Varicose vein surgery - is the traditional treatment method that is often referred to as stripping of the veins. This practice has been very successful in treating problematic veins.

Laser treatment for varicose veins - the use of lasers removes the veins, is effective, and allows for a quicker procedure as well as recovery period.

Thread vein treatment - is used to remove fine thread veins. Sclerotherapy is a not a surgical procedure, a special solution is injected into your vein and it takes a couple of weeks for the solution to absorb into the treated area and for you to see results.

The goal for treating varicose veins is to diminish any pain and discomfort that you may have as well as improving the physical look of your leg. In order to enhance the look of your leg it may require that you return for some follow-up treatments to clear up any lumps.
