How Fashion Choices Can Prevent Spider Veins

Updated on: August 18, 2014

It seems that the bulk of irregularities in the skin seem to occur as a person grows older. The skin starts to lose the natural elasticity that it had when it was younger, and wrinkles start to occur. Skin that enjoyed long days of unprotected sun exposure while tanning starts to develop many pigmentation irregularities. However, it is important to note that some irregularities occur while a person is still relatively young.

One example, spider veins, occurs in women who are still young and have gained a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time. While just basic weight gain because of an enjoyment of food can be a cause, some women notice that they develop spider veins after their pregnancy.

All of the extra weight that a woman gains while pregnant subsequently places excess pressure on her legs, which in turn affect her circulation. So, the veins swell to accumulate the extra blood, the result being spider veins. However, fashion choices can also be a significant cause of spider veins.

When a woman wants to dress up for work or for a special event, one accessory that she often wears are high heels. Generally speaking, the thinner and higher the heel, the more pressure is put on the legs, which in turn can also cause these kinds of veins. So, what fashion choices can a woman make in order to prevent these kinds of veins from occurring? It is a simple matter of wearing shoes that are stylish, but also offer support for the feet.
