Support stockings are available for both men and women in all sizes. One should always have the leg size measured before buying a pair of stockings. If buying over the internet, it is important to first buy only one pair, just in case it is not the right fit.

These support stockings are expensive and the prices are variable. The stockings can be bought without a prescription but it is important to ensure that the stockings do have some pressure gradient. Support stockings without any pressure gradient are of little medical value.

Support stockings can be worn up to the knee or on the thigh. The thigh high variety generally have a tendency to roll over and slip down the leg. Knee high support stockings are adequate for most individuals.
