Laser & Light Therapy in Hot Springs, Arkansas (AR)

Laser & Light therapy is a form of skin rejuvenation.  It can assist in diminishing your fine lines and wrinkles. There is little to no recovery time, you can go back to work or resume other activities immediately following therapy.

Laser & light therapy utilizes a number of wavelengths or colors in each pulse of light instead of just one wavelength.  Because this procedure uses filters, it is capable of giving the exact amount of energy output that is necessary for specific treatment of targeted areas. This helps the penetration cycle and avoids the use of excessive energy reaching to the target tissue preventing any damage.

Laser & light therapy is a non-ablative resurfacing treatment option that is aimed towards the lower layers of skin or dermis without affecting the top layers of skin or epidermis. The results aren’t typically as dramatic as ablative resurfacing where both the dermis and epidermis are injured to produce a much more noticeable overall outcome.

About Hot Springs Surgical Vein Clinic

At Hot Springs Surgery and Vein Clinic, we take the treatment of varicose veins seriously and use the latest state-of-the-art outpatient procedures to eliminate both the veins and the health risks that accompany them. Because the treatment for varicose veins varies with each patient, here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the veins and the procedures used at HSSC.

Varicose veins are swollen dilated veins that bulge out in the skin of the legs when standing. They are blue or dark purple, twisted, and often look like a cluster of grapes.Varicose veins are usually caused by a faulty valve in the affected vein. This valve allows the blood to back flow from the deeper higher pressure veins into the lower pressure surface veins. When this occurs, the surface veins dilate and become visible. Our first step with every patient is to check the valves in your leg with an ultrasound to determine if you have this condition. If you do, then it is very important to correct this problem first to ensure the success of your treatment.

Spider veins are smaller and closer to the surface of the skin. They don’t bulge out like varicose veins but are often more noticeable. Spider veins can be red or blue in color, and look like a tree branch, spider webs, or starbursts with their threadlike appearance. Spider veins can occur on the legs, hands or face.

What causes Varicose and Spider Veins?
Varicose veins tend to be hereditary so if your family members have them then your chance of having them is higher than average. Otherwise, obesity, tall stature, and excessive standing on hard surfaces contribute to varicose veins.

How does Hot Springs Surgery and Vein Clinic treat my veins?
We believe that since everyone is unique and every vein is different, we need to offer a variety of services to meet the needs of our patients. For large varicose veins, Sclerotherapy is an excellent treatment option. For smaller spider veins, laser therapy works well as does VeinGogh thermolysis. Your treatment will be determined after an initial consultation with Dr. Campbell.
