Right Place, Right Time
Thank you for reading VEIN Magazine! This issue marks the First Anniversary of our publication and we have embraced some great successes in this short amount of time. As a newcomer to the world of phlebology, the last few months have been a time of rapid acclimation, broadened fascination and the challenge of processing massive amounts of information – all so I can better understand this niche of venous disease diagnosis and treatment. After having met and learned from many physicians and other leaders from within this community, I have come to an exciting conclusion – this is one of those rare occasions in life where I am at the right place at the right time! More importantly, with innovative vein treatment technologies and options, aggressive public awareness campaigns and advanced industry education efforts – so are all of you!
While researching this dynamic specialty, one cannot ignore the fact that there are some true innovators and dynamic facilitators in the field who have dedicated their careers to the advancement of venous health. In an effort to bring these trailblazers and their contributions to light, we are proud to present the Top 25 Most Influential Venous Professionals – A Readership Survey. Many of your colleagues (and VEIN readers) – in academia and private practice, nationally and internationally, within and allied to phlebology – have nominated and voted for their top choices and it is our sincerest expectation that by profiling these outstanding individuals and their accomplishments, the vein community will benefit from knowing more about their contributions and commitment.
Each issue of VEIN Magazine delivers regular columns such as Doctor’s Advice, Medical Diary, Education, Phlebology International, Incorporating Phlebology and News and New Products to keep you in tune with the changing tides of vein research and practice. In addition, we are pleased to announce the launch of two additional resources for our readers – our eNewsletter, ThePulse, focusing on practice management and business strategies, and our new physician-oriented website, www.VEINMagazine.net where industry professionals can stay informed and plugged-in to niche-specific news and information, as well as providing beneficial practice resources and a forum to communicate more effectively within the vein community. As a final piece of the puzzle, it is my pleasure to introduce our newest team member, Keith Jacobs, who with this issue, begins his position as Editor-in-Chief for VEIN.
VEIN Magazine and VeinDirectory.org are dedicated to serving the vein community and our staff thanks you for your support. We will continue to provide quality information and resources to help you grow your business or practice as you further advance the field of phlebology, both within the US and globally!
