Welcome to our first issue of VEIN. We are very proud and excited to unveil VEIN Magazine. Our inaugural issue features an up-close and personal interview with ACP’s new President Robert Min, M.D. about his quest to lead the organization into new territory by increasing membership and focusing on education. Each issue will include a Q&A with medical professionals in our industry. VEIN Magazine will also feature several other columns of interest to our readers, including Case Study, featuring clinical studies and treatment of venous disease, and Medical Diary, a medical expert’s first-hand account of conferences on the study and advancement of phlebology and venous disease.
VEIN magazine will serve as a tool to help grow and maintain your practice. This magazine pertains to you whether your practice is solely geared toward treating venous disease or whether you dedicate a small percentage to venous disease. VEIN will be first in line to publish new developments in the field of phlebology, upcoming events and ways to enhance your practice.
Our efforts are focused on delivering a high quality publication to you. We have dedicated much energy and resources into providing you with useful articles while maintaining the requisite quality and integrity. I am proud to be involved with VEIN. Our community deserves the best. VEIN is a product of your support. My sincere gratitude goes out to our dedicated team, including Dr. Zimmet, who has played an integral role in the creation of VEIN. I also want to recognize those doctors in our network of friends who have conceptually helped us put this publication together. I also appreciate the medical practitioners in the community who provided us with much of the VEIN Magazine content.
We are going to publish VEIN on a quarterly basis. This first issue of VEIN will be released at the Annual American College of Phlebology Congress on November 8th, 2007. Thousands of copies will also be mailed out free-ofcharge to healthcare professionals across the United States. In order for even a larger distribution, the publication is also going to be available online at Veindirectory.org. I hope you enjoy it. We want to tailor VEIN around your interest; this magazine is about you and your practice. Our goal to increase the awareness of our industry and help bring the community together. We are open to suggestions and welcome your involvement. Please feel free to email us and give suggestions.
We strive to be the leading informational portal in the field of Phlebology, both online via Veindirectory.org and in print via VEIN.
Best regards, Ali Jahangiri
