Wounds and Veins at the 37th Annual VEITHsymposium

The 37th Annual VEITHsymposium will kick-off two great programs, WOUNDS and Endovenous Management of Varicose Veins on Wednesday, November 17 at the Hilton New York. World-renowned experts will present their opinions, findings and other significant data to an audience of vascular surgeons and vascular specialists with an interest in these respective areas.This year’s WOUND course directors will include Dr. Dieter Mayer, Head of Wound Care at the Clinic of Cardiovascular Surgery in Zurich, Switzerland, Dr. Bauer Sumpio, Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut and Dr. Stephen Kravitz, Executive Director of the American Professional Wound Care Association. Course directors of the endovenous management of varicose veins session include Dr. Jose Almeida, University of Miami- Jackson Memorial Hospital and Dr. Lowell Kabnick from New York University Medical Center.

Those attending the Endovenous Management of Varicose Veins at VEITHsymposium will listen to discussions on how to approach the “Comparative Effectiveness” issue, a review of randomized controlled trials comparing endovenous thermal ablation with modern extirpation surgery for saphenous incompetence, a debate on C?, C5, C? refluxing truncal veins, a detailed discussion on a randomized trial comparing RF, laser, foam sclerotherapy, stripping in varicose veins and much more.

Other timely topics discussed throughout the 5-day event include interventional therapies for the treatment of DCVT, including ultrasound-assisted thrombolysis, catheter-directed thrombolysis.
