How is Veinwave treatment performed?
After cleaning the injection site, your doctor will insert a very fine, insulated needle into your skin right next to the spider vein. No numbing cream or anesthesia is required. The needle precisely heats and destroys the spider vein without damaging nearby tissue. Most procedures take between 10 and 15 minutes to perform, and no bandages are required following the procedure.
Because the Veinwave procedure uses a very fine needle, most patients don't experience pain during the procedure, though some report a feeling similar to a brief pin-prick.
Many people only need one treatment, but in some cases two or three treatments may be required for best results.
There is a very small risk of scarring, although this risk is less compared to other spider vein treatments such as sclerotherapy.
What is the recovery like?
