I'd suggest you schedule an appointment with your treating physician for re-evaluation.

This might be related to the healing process. It is always best to follow up with your treating physician.

Approximately 7 percent of patients will have sensory nerve damage after ablation. In 90 percent of those cases, the problem will resolve up to 9 months after the treatment.

Did you go in for a follow-up ultrasound to make sure those veins are closed? Many times after laser ablations, it will irritate many of those cutaneous nerves that will give you those types of sensations. It will take some time for those to heal. The follow up is critical.

Should improve after a few weeks. Still healing.

You are still in the healing phase. While unusual, there can be a "pulling" sensation in the vein as it heals. Also as the deeper tissue inflammation subsides, there little nerve endings may "wake" and cause some discomfort. Try some low heat often, massage over the areas with a little firm pressure and wear your hose if up and about and more comfortable.

It is possible depending on the size of the vein treated and your rate of healing, to have these types of symptoms weeks after the procedure. I would follow up with your provider for a complete exam and discussion.

It is not abnormal to have those "shooting" pain. You can use ibuprofen if it bothers too much.

This is normal and sometimes these symptoms can last for several months. The pain is along the course of the treated saphenous vein and is usually due to the vein contracting from the ablation. This occurs at different rates in different people. If the vein can be palpated or by using ultrasonic guidance, the clot within the vein can sometimes be evacuated to decrease the symptoms.
