I am only 21 years old but I have painful veins on my left leg. I have had them since I was very young, and they only become worse. They are only on one leg. What is the best option to treat the appearance? Thank you.
You would need to be seen by a vein specialist where they can evaluate and see what the cause of the pain is. Have the cause treated first before you have the cosmetic appearance treated.

No you are not too young. Many times varicose veins are hereditary, lifting or standing for long periods, pregnancy and hormonal changes or trauma and you require an ultrasound to determine the existence of the problem and severity. This would then dictate how to treat it if necessary.

My youngest male patient for vein surgery was 13 and my youngest female was 11 so 21 is not too young for a procedure to eradicate your veins. Veins only worsen with time and, in your case, there is most likely a genetic component. A closure procedure would be the treatment of choice. See a vein specialist.

You need to see a qualified Phlebologist for a clinical evaluation. Some patients need treatment for varicose vein problems in their teenage years. A few patients have abnormally formed veins at birth which become more evident with time. It is important to have a thorough clinical and ultrasound exam in order for anyone to give you further advice.

You are not too young and it's not uncommon to have varicose veins in only one leg. As far as best treatment, it depends on what your ultrasound demonstrates. I would recommend consultation with a vein specialist.

You are not too young. These veins can develop at even a young age.
Various options exist for treating nearly all veins. The exact treatment will depend on many factors and should be determined with the advice of your local vein specialist.
