Ambulatory phlebectomy and microphlebectomy are technically the same procedures. If a larger incision is made then it is called a phlebectomy rather than a microphlebectomy.

They are one and the same. Just another name for the old stripping procedures of the past. There are less invasive foam treatments that are now available to treat your ropey veins. They are highly effective when performed by a skilled vein doc. The results are the same as phlebotomy just without the scars.

They are the same procedure. Ambulatory just means an outpatient procedure and micro phlebectomy means the incisions are very small. Any ambulatory phlebectomy is a micro phlebectomy.

Though they have different names, they are both the same procedure and both serve the same purpose of removing bulging varicose veins.

The terms are confusing. Ambulatory phlebectomy simply means you can walk home from the procedure, no general anesthetic is used. The original phlebectomies were done through large incisions that required suturing. Microphlebectomy is done through a 2 mm incision that usually does not require any closure.

I experienced severe bruising and intense pain 8 days after ambulatory phlebectomy and EVLT. I could not even touch the area from my right groin all the way down to my knee. I followed all of the doctor's orders given post-op. Upon a recheck yesterday, no infection was found, but during the ultrasound the pain upon the docs pressing the area was excruciating and I felt a burning sensation go all the way up leg. What's going on? Could I have a hematoma?
