Maybe with special elastic inserts? My present hose are already flat knitted to measure. I'm concerned about the wrinkles when one is not standing. Is there any manufacturer that provides special inserts?
You need to get a custom fitted pair of stockings. These will not be small, medium and large. With a proper fitting pair of stockings, this will not occur. Inserts are not needed if the stockings fit correctly.

This is a very common problem, but I am not aware of any special inserts.

You've identified a common complaint with app compression hosiery. To my knowledge, there are no inserts or solutions aside from pulling the stockings up.

Did you have any vein surgery done? Or are you wearing it because of pain? There are so many different compression stockings out there in the market, that we would need to see and evaluate you before we could suggest the proper hose.

Not to my knowledge. Compression hose usually wrinkle if they slide down or are too long.

Other than opting for calf length hose, I don't know.

To my knowledge there are not, however, you could Google Juzo, Sigvaris, Medi, Jobst. They are companies that carry many different styles of compression stockings.

Wrinkling or gathering of fabric behind the knees usually is due to hose sliding down the leg or by hose which are too long for the patient. Proper sizing is important. Hose which slide down the thigh can be held up by use of a water soluble body glue which rolls on like deodorant.

It is important that custom hose, especially flat knit, are measured very carefully. There should not be wrinkling behind the knee. I would recommend you keep your hose well pulled up even if you have to re-do them during the day. A well fitted stocking should stay put quite well but as they age they may lose a little of their stretch. They should be replaced every six months. In a perfect world, you would have two pair and alternate days with them. Laundering in a small amount of plain soap (no Woolite, fabric softener or bleach) prolongs the life of hose. Avoiding keeping the knees too bent while sitting will reduce the wrinkling or "cutting" behind the knees. Any type of panel insert would cause a break in the compression integrity. You could try a pad of some kind behind the knee also (a small panty liner works well - don't laugh) - just don't stick it to your skin.

The problem is not with the hose. It takes some getting used to, but if you adjust the tension of the hose (above and below the knee equally) they won't bunch as much. Usually, there is quite a bit of hose material below the knee and when you stretch to reach the thigh, the tendency is to bunch at the knee. Try to pull excess hose material above the knee and then gently let it rest around your waist or upper thigh. If you're still having issues, have one of the nurses in the doctor's office help you.

The hose may be too long for you.

I am not aware of any special inserts. Wrinkling behind the knee is a common complaint even with custom made stockings. A lot of the proper fitting has to do with the way stockings fit on various leg sizes. You may need to consider a more customized fitting stocking.
