They should not. However, if you have severe peripheral vascular disease (PVD), you should NOT wear compression hose. You should speak with your physician regarding PVD.

No, compression stockings will only cause weakness if the hose are too tight and there is significant arterial

I don't think so. I have never heard of this. I would guess there is another problem involved. You should see your doctor and have it checked.

If your compression stockings are correctly measured and fitted with the appropriate recommend compression, there should not be any problem. If the hose were purchased over the counter in generic sizing, they would more likely cause pain if too tight or simply be ineffective if they are too loose. Your issues sound unrelated and you should see your primary care physician. Do these symptoms occur when not wearing the hose?

Compression stocking should not cause your legs to become weak or to have difficulty with getting up and down. There is another reason for this. You should be examined to receive a clear diagnosis/cause of this problem.

My vascular surgeon did an ultrasound and prescribed endovenous laser ablation. She also suggested that I wear compression stockings after the procedure. However, due to severe psoriasis and eczema on my feet, I cannot wear full-coverage stockings that cover them. They must always be in wet dressings, but cannot be fully covered. Would footless compression stockings be just as effective as full-coverage hose following the procedure?
