While I do not think compression stockings will help, the passage of time and possibly laser treatment may improve the pigmentation you describe.

Compression stockings help keep the blood flow running smoothly to the heart, beginning at the feet. It also supports your legs and helps keep the vein closed to help stop developing varicose veins or enlargement of the vein.

No, in time it may fade if the cause is treated. Compression hose can keep it from progressing.

Probably not. They can reduce the progression of further pigmentation if worn religiously, however.

The answer is no. I would suggest trying a cream such as Dermaka, which contains licorice root extract and can, therefore, calm the pigment. If the areas have been there for a long time, you may be able to use prescription strength hydroquinone or have some test areas done with laser. This should be by an experienced practitioner and they may try several different modalities (IPL, PicoGenesis etc). If you are still suffering from this problem, look up Epionce Skin Care. Dr. Thornfeldt has a line of products that may help control this without using steroids.

My vascular surgeon did an ultrasound and prescribed endovenous laser ablation. She also suggested that I wear compression stockings after the procedure. However, due to severe psoriasis and eczema on my feet, I cannot wear full-coverage stockings that cover them. They must always be in wet dressings, but cannot be fully covered. Would footless compression stockings be just as effective as full-coverage hose following the procedure?
