The extent of bruising varies. You should inquire about Sclerotherapy as an alternative to Microphlebectomy. Sclerotherapy will not result in scarring (the incisions with Microphlebectomy always leaves scars, even if small ones), and other than a known hypersensitivity to the Sclerotherapy solution, I don't know of any circumstance where Microphlebectomy is the only treatment option.

There is always some bruising after microphlebectomies but the amount of bruising varies with each individual. By wearing compression and using a topical anti bruising cream the bruising is usually kept to a minimum.

Some brusing is expected after MPs however this generally resolves within 1-2 weeks. The amount of bruising varies with multiple factors like the size of the veins and the patient.

While individual circumstances vary, most patients bruise very little even when they are taking anticoagulants such as warfarin.

Bruising is extremely common after microphlebectomy and should be expected. The amount of the bruising is dependent upon the extent of microphlebectomy, the medications you are taking (e.g. aspirin), as well as other factors.
