Sclerotherapy is one type of treatment that is used for hemorrhoids, but it is entirely dependent on what type may be involved. Depending on the type there are more minimally invasive procedures that may be more appropriate. Patients should be evaluated by a physician experienced in hemorrhoid management to determine which treatment would be most appropriate for their particular case.

Although rectal hemorrhoids are veins, optimal expertise can best be provided by a Colo-Rectal Surgeon. The difficulty treating these veins with Sclerotherapy is the limitation of the ability to COMPRESS these veins. Minimally invasive banding is an overall superior method of definitive treatment.
