There are all degrees of spider veins from a few in one area to spiders throughout the leg, therefore, the symptoms can vary from nothing to multiple including aching, heaviness, burning and itching. The greater the symptoms the greater the chance of reflux, therefore, a venous duplex exam should be performed.

Spider Veins are usually not associated with symptoms. However, people with spider veins often have other underlying vein problems with can only be seen with a complete ultrasound exam. If you have leg symptoms and spider veins, I would recommend having a leg ultrasound. Spider veins can be treated with sclerotherapy or laser.

Spider veins can cause symptoms. If you are experiencing heaviness, you may have venous insufficiency which would be diagnosed with duplex venous ultrasound.

Usually the deeper veins cause these symptoms and they can cause the spider veins as well. You should probably have an eval. by a vein specialist, with an ultrasound of the leg veins if you wish treatment. Multiple options are available for the spider veins but a thorough is warranted first.

Yes, spider veins can cause symptoms including swelling and a feeling of heaviness in the legs.Despite their small size, a large number of spider veins can contribute to Venous Insufficiency.
In my opinion, sclerotherapy is clearly the treatment of choice for spider veins of the legs.

The best advice would be to schedule an appointment and have an ultrasound to determine what the issue is.

Spider vein should not cause heaviness on your legs. It is quite possible you have venous insufficiency/reflux and that is the cause of the heaviness. Spider veins are part of the manifestation of venous insufficiency/refluz. You need to have a complete evaluation of you veins including a venous Doppler/ultrasound.

You may have underlying venous insufficiency. I suggest a venous insufficiency duplex exam to look for incompetent veins.
