Other options are a laser fiber or possibly foam sclerotherapy. Ask your provider. Also the open vein stripping operation may be an option.

Yes. ClosureFAST is radiofrequency ablation and some insurances don't cover. Most insurances cover laser ablation.

Yes, but you will have to check with Medicaid to see what they will cover.

It depends on what "this surgery" is. If you have insufficiency in the
great or other branch saphenous veins and symptoms related to these veins,
laser endovenous closure is equally as effective as the Closure FAST
technique. The laser catheters are smaller diameter and otherwise the cool
lasers (1320 or higher) have very similar patient satisfaction ratings in
terms of post op discomfort. I offer both the closure fast and the
cooltouch laser systems and have found clinical situations where both have
their preferred application.

There are other options available but not usually as minimally invasive as Endovenous laser or Radiofrequency.
Stripping is the original surgery procedure but involves more down time and mostly done under general anaesthetic and sometimes more scarring.
There are also micro-phlebectomies to remove varicose veins on the surface. These can be done under local anesthesia in an office setting.
However, the deeper problem should be dealt with first.

Yes, venous closure can also be done using a laser rather than the Vnus procedure. Both procedures are done via similar technique except one uses a radiofrequency catheter and one uses a laser. You need to check with both your insurance carrier and your vein specialist.

Your question is difficult to answer because you do not give details regarding your problem. If you have been advised to have a saphenous vein ablation with the VNUS ClosureFast device, this procedure can also be done with LASER ablation. Both techniques involve heating the vein from the inside to seal the vein shut and both are done with a needle stick approach to enter the vein. They both work well.

On your message you are mixing some terminology.
Most of the patients with vein disease/varicose veins need thermal ablation. There are two forms of thermal ablations. One is EVLT (endovenous laser treatment) that uses a laser catheter and there are different brands and vendors. The other form of thermal ablation is RFA or radiofrequency ablation also know by the brandname VNUS. Their catheter is called Closure Fast.
Although most health insurance companies cover the cost of either procedure none of them pay or reimburse for the catheter itself, it is included in the fees received by the physician.

Endovenous thermal ablation requires either laser or radiofrequency. If
your insurance will not pay then most physicians will require payment up
front. Hope this helps
