Dimpling after EVLT

I noticed a large dimple on my leg after deep EVLT. Is this common and will it go away? The Dr. had a difficult time with the vein because it was so deep, and he struggled getting me numb. I bruised severely.

The dimpling is not unusual. It will resolve with time.

Usually anything like this will resolve in a few months as it heals. Any concern should be addressed to your doctor, however.

This will get better with time. However, it may take 6 months to a year.

Your question and the doctor's answer don't make sense. Lasering close to the underside of the skin can cause some subcutaneous atrophy and pigmentation. If the vein is deeper, these complications should not be an issue.

Dimpling after EVLT is not common, although it may happen if there has been a lot of hematoma or accumulation of blood. Usually with local care/ self- massage (in the area) it will disappear within a few months.

I am not sure what the dimple is due to. Was this an area where varicose veins were removed? If so, an indentation can occur which is usually temporary. It could also be due to a hematoma following the procedure. Most of the time, these irregularities improve and resolve over time. You should follow up with your treating physician.
