Do I have a blood clot?

I had schlerotherapy on my left upper thigh yesterday and wore my knee-high hose to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible pain in my left heel. It was also red. Got back in bed and it went away. Could this be a blood clot?

Unlikely, but follow up with your doctor.

Why didn't you wear a thigh-high compression stocking for the first 48 hours, then 5 days more during the day? That is the recommendation, and it is important to have compression on the treated area. The irritation was probably from the stocking, and most people do say that it gives them pain in their feet while wearing it to bed.

The redness and pain is probably due to the extreme compression at the foot and ankle and is likely if it disappears soon after removing the stocking. If it persists, see your doctor, although a blood clot is very unlikely.

The heel is not a typical location for pain associated with a blood clot. This would be very unlikely.

This does not sound like a blood clot. Most likely the discomfort was related to your stockings. There are no major veins in the heel that can cause a blood clot of any significance.

I do not think it is a blood clot and most likely due to pressure of the stocking on your heel. I would wear them only during the day and take them off at bedtime.

You had sclerotherapy on your thigh. So you need compression stocking thigh high. And after procedure needs to be wrapped. Most probably you don't have blood clot. But call your doctor.
