4 weeks is long enough time in most cases but if you have pigmentation
from sclerotherapy wait for 8-10 weeks at least.

You should avoid direct exposure to tanning for 2 weeks minimum.

While we are advocates of avoiding tanning as much as possible due to skin cancer and premature aging, we recommend that patients wait at least 3 - 4 weeks after their last treatment before sun exposure. Remember that anytime the skin integrity is disturbed (cut, scratch, needle-sticks and laser) that area can become hyper-pigmented (darker brown). If you plan follow-up treatments then we ask that you avoid sun and self tanners for the same reason.
There are some very nice self tanners we recommend such as the new one from Jane Iredale.

I don't think there is any specific time to wait to tan after sclerotherapy, but I would not recommend tanning for 2 weeks after the sclero. If there is a lot of bruising or staining or clotted veins then more than 2 weeks would be necessary.
