How long after sclerotherapy should I try Veinwave?

I've had three sclerotherapy treatments done this year, with the last session about one month ago. I still have noticeable areas on my legs. I was told the treatments haven't been effective because the problematic veins are too small. Would Veinwave work better? If so, how long after sclerotherapy do I have to wait before having the procedure?

Sclerotherapy is still the gold standard by which all other treatments are judged. I have not been particularly impressed with Veinwave. You may want to seek out someone more experienced in sclerotherapy.

Treatment of spider veins can take an average of 3-5 treatments for an area of veins to resolve. Additionally the areas should be checked for "feeder" reticular veins below the surface with both ultrasound and transillumination (a bright light in a dark room). If the feeder veins are not treated, the surface veins will not resolve or they will reopen. I recommend you find a clinic which can evaluate your veins and treat appropriately. If you have had all of the above treatments, Veinwave is an option (or laser) to the small surface veins and can be done any time and in conjunction with injections. We also feel compression hose after the treatments from 3-5 days is beneficial.

Veinwave works best on red spider veins that are too small to inject with sclerotherapy. I would recommend waiting three months to fully assess the sclerotherapy results before considering the Veinwave procedure. It's also important to do ultrasound or Veinlite mapping prior to doing sclerotherapy. Sometimes injecting one reticular vein which feeds the spider veins and telangiectasia will give a better result compared with Veinwave alone.

Generally, I wait until all the injected veins and staining resolves.
