How long does it take for the hard spots and bruising to go away after sclerotherapy for spider veins?

I was told there would be minimal bruising and it would go away in six to eight weeks. Is this true and could you have scars afterwards?

My experience of over 30 years is that sclerotherapy bruising usually resolves within 2 weeks. On rare occasions it may take longer. Scarring from sclerotherapy is very rare.

You should see the doctor who did the injections and see if they can drain these. You may have staining afterwards that does tend to fade over time.

6-8 weeks but sometimes longer if they're larger clotted veins.

Very unlikely to have long-term scars. The 6-8 weeks period is reasonable for most patients, but do not hold your breath, could be longer. It depends on the size of the treated veins and on the individual response of the body. Some individuals heal very fast others slower.

There should not be scarring from sclerotherapy. Rarely there can be little malformation in the vessels which can cause a small sore. Most likely these are areas of trapped blood and your sclerotherapist/doctor should release these for faster healing. We also have all our patients use Dermaka cream (available on Amazon if your clinic doesn't carry this) for massaging and promoting healing and faster fading of bruising. Everyone heals differently, some faster than others.

I would suggest that you talk to you vein Doctor. Recovery time is highly variable and is in part dependent on skin type.
