I am just over 2 weeks post EVLT and still have pain. As long as I take an anti-inflammatory the pain subsides. Visually the inner thigh looks good. How much longer will the pain last?
It is quite common to have some residual discomfort, particularly along the inner thigh, for up to 4-6 weeks. Most patients have discomfort that is gone in a week. But be patient and wear the compression stockings. If red streaks appear, return for further evaluation.

This can persist for another couple of weeks. Wearing the compression stockings will also help.

Should subside over the next several weeks.

Depends on the laser that was used. We don't use it due to the pain and bruising it causes. We use VNUS Closure. It could be months.

Upper inner thigh discomfort is one of the most common symptoms that I see post-EVLT. Everyone has some degree of pain/discomfort in this area post-treatment, which can last several days to several weeks. Usually 2 to 3 weeks is the time at which it resolves. Anti-inflammatory agents and wet heat to the area help.

Occasionally, some soreness can persist after laser ablation for even 3-4 weeks. Your plan is good to continue the NSAIDs until it subsides. It should resolve in another week or two.

While individual patient experiences vary considerably, most will be over the worst of their discomfort within the first week with progressive improvement over a few days to rare cases which leave some discomfort for several months. If your discomfort remains a problem, re-evaluation by your treating phlebologist would be advisable.

It depends on what laser wave length is used. The angiodynamics 810
does a good job closing the vein, but a fair number of patients have
considerable pain for a few weeks after the procedure. The same goes
for the 940. The most gentle laser is the 1470 by Biolitec, very
rare to need anything for pain after the procedure. The Venus clousure
fast is also very gentle. We have all of these lasers in our practice,
and use only the 1470 and Venus clousure for this reason. Continue the
anti-inflammatorys and your symptoms should subside in the next week or
two.

We explain to all our patients that around the 2-week mark there can be continued of slightly increased discomfort. Physiologically this is best explained as deeper tissue swelling and inflammation is subsiding and the small nerve endings are "waking up". I have my patients massage with firm pressure by the flat of their fingers, apply some low heat and take Tylenol extra strength (1-2) every 4 - 6 hours as needed. It should pass soon. Wear the hose if you are more comfortable with them.

You may have an element of phlebitis that may account for your pain. I suggest you follow up with your treating physician.
