How much is too much sclerotherapy

I've had laser treatment of my left and right front saphenous veins and my left back saph vein. The follow up to this is Sclerotherpy to close off some branches. I had three injections on the right leg and seven on the left. He wants to do more. Should I ?

If you are happy with your legs in the way they feel and look then there is
no need. If not sure get a second opinion.

Hard to answer without knowing and examining your legs first hand. You can always get another opinion.

Effective sclerotherapy is a gradual process. Each case is very different.
We encourage you to make an appointment for a consultation with a board certified vein specialist.

Do you still have symptoms? If they are not lifestyle limiting, then stop.

It is very difficult to say without seeing you personally and performing ultrasound examination. In our clinic we, on occasion perform up to three sclerotherpy treatments and we do not inject varicose veins. Those we remove with microphlebectomy. If you have concerns, I would recommend scheduling a discussion with your treating surgeon or seeking a second opinion

Sclerotherapy is a process. The amount needed is dependent on the extent of the spider veins. Laser ablation does not treat spiders. I usually recommend sclerotherapy treatments at 6 week intervals. After 3 treatments I then wait 4 to 6 months before another treatment.

If you still have more "abnormal" veins in your legs your should have them treated with sclerotherapy. You want to have a more complete elimination of your veins, else they will just continue to give you symptoms or get larger and show up on the surface as varicose veins.
