You can resume activities as soon as your treating doctor says it's OK to do so. Everyone has their own "recipe" for success regarding sclerotherapy. My routine is to allow unlimited activities one week after
sclerotherapy for surface veins and two weeks after saphenous vein treatment. But since I didn't treat you I can't speak for your physician. This is something you should discuss with him/her.

You can resume activities on the day of the procedure as long as they are not very strenuous. We ask that patients refrain from strenuous activity for one week after sclerotherapy.

We instruct our sclerotherapy patients that they may resume "normal" activity immediately. "Normal" is defined as walking with an easy, moderate gait. It also includes no heavy lifting over 20 pounds and no aerobic exercise. Aerobic activities such as running, elliptical, etc., weight lifting and weight training may be resumed after two weeks.

I recommend resuming all physical activity immediately after sclerotherapy. I also recommend compression hose for 48 hours post treatment. I do not want patients to sit in a hot tub or tub bath for 48 hours post treatment and we recommend they avoid sun exposure until the bruising and redness subside.
