I had vein embolization for PCS but still have back pain, why?

I had a plug used to seal my large ovarian vein to treat my PCS two weeks ago. I have definite relief in my pelvis/abdomen but I continue to have pain in my mid/lower back and tailbone area. It gets worse when my menstrual cycle occurs. Why is this happening? Is the back pain related to my PCS?

The embolization closed the refluxing ovarian vein thereby eliminating the increased pelvic pressure. Your back pain may not be related to PCS or you may need to give it more time to see if there is improvement. If no improvement at the 6 week mark then I would look for another source of the back pain.

Yes, it can be. Have you had another pelvic ultrasound or even an MRI? If you haven't seen your doctor since then, it would be a good idea to talk about further treatment and imaging.
