The pain in the belly is probably not related to wearing the compression stockings. If the symptom is still present, schedule an appointment with your primary physician to have an evaluation.

If the stockings are not fitted correctly, then you can have some discomfort while the stockings are on. Once taken off, however, the discomfort should subside.

It is possible when you consider the fact that if you are wearing thigh-high compression stockings, you are essentially compressing the outside of both legs. In so doing, you are decreasing the ability of your legs veins to dilate. The result is all of the blood that normally would pool in your legs as a result of your vein disease now pools above the level of your stockings...in this case, your hips and lower abdominal region. If you have varicose veins within your pelvic region, you can cause an increased dilation of these veins in your pelvis due to this increased blood volume. The result is potentially an aching discomfort in your abdomen.

The two are probably not related if the compression stockings are just on the legs. However, abdominal pain could be caused if you are straining a lot to put the stockings on.

I doubt the two are related, but discuss this matter with your MD.
