I have veins showing after surgery

I had long and short libation, strip and avulsions in both legs one week ago. The left leg has been done for the second time, I can see veins still, will they disappear wearing the support stockings?

Sometimes not all the bulging veins are taken out during the stripping. They will not disappear with compression.

After procedures such as you have described, I usually suggest waiting a month to see how the legs look and feel. Occasionally, patients will need further microphlebectomy to remove any residual varicose veins.

Stockings generally wont resolve these but sometimes thay will reduce in size wih time. Follow vein injections may be required to eradicate ant residual veins. See your provider.

Compression will help during the post-treatment phase. It takes some time for the blood to re-route itself when the circulation is corrected. Typically 50% of untreated varicosities may resolve after ablation of the saphenous vein.
You state you underwent avulsion (phlebectomy) also. There can be residual veins. We typically wait about 2-3 months for this resolution. Sclerotherapy can help with any smaller vein left over for cosmetic reasons.

It's hard to answer your question since I do not have your legs and your ultrasound information in front of me. If you are concerned with the results and your surgeon has nothing left to offer once you have had several months to heal, consider seeing a phlebologist who is experienced with minimally-invasive vein procedures such as foam sclerotherapy, microphlebectomy, and endovenous thermal ablation.

It is normal for some veins still be present even after ablations and phlebectomies. You most probably need to give time for some veins to decrease in size. Your doctor might consider sclerotherapy for the remnant veins.

My vascular surgeon did an ultrasound and prescribed endovenous laser ablation. She also suggested that I wear compression stockings after the procedure. However, due to severe psoriasis and eczema on my feet, I cannot wear full-coverage stockings that cover them. They must always be in wet dressings, but cannot be fully covered. Would footless compression stockings be just as effective as full-coverage hose following the procedure?
