While driving to work and relaxing after work, my toes will get really cold . Sometimes, they get slightly pale. There is no pain or discomfort. Is it safe to wear 8-15mmhg compression stockings? They make my legs feel great. Haven't noticed yet if they affect my cold toes or not.
Compression stockings of 8-15 mmHg compression are usually quite safe to wear. The only time you worry about whether it is safe to wear or not is in the case where the person has peripheral artery disease and has a severe decrease in blood flow. In the average healthy person, that type of stocking is usually not much of an issue.

Have your doctor perform an ankle/brachial ratio BP test and ultrasound to see if you have arterial claudication.

If you are not having pain or discomfort, then wearing compression hose most likely it is not a health issue. However, should things change and you to have pain or it continues to get worse, I would advise you to see your primary care physician.

It depends. First, you would need to be evaluated to see how your arterial circulation is, and if it's good, and the toes getting cold are just due to local vasospasm, then it should be OK to wear compression stockings. But a visit to a vascular surgeon should be able to tell you.

There should be no problem with you wearing the compression stockings.

Yes, you should be able to wear compression hose. As for your toes being cold, this could be due to any number of things. While probably something quite benign, you may want to check with your primary care provider and have them take a look at your toes to determine if there are any certain conditions that might warrant special attention (i.e.: Raynaud's disease).

Sure, you can wear them. There is no problem with doing such, although one can't guarantee they will warm your toes.

It sounds like you may symptoms of Raynaud's disease. If you can wear and tolerate the low grade compression, it is quite safe.

Cold toes and cold feet are a common complaint. 15 to 20 mm Hg pressure in compression hose is a very low compression. You should have an arterial vascular evaluation to make sure that your lower extremity arterial blood flow is adequate. If it is adequate, then there is no contraindication to wearing the compression stockings and, in fact, you should then wear them.
