I pulled a muscle after sclerotherapy treatment, should I return to my doctor? What symptoms should I look out for?

I had 2 veins in my calf injected 2 months ago. I was doing yoga and I think I pulled a muscle in my groin 2 weeks ago. The pain is still there and hurts down my leg. Just wondering if I should go to the doctor and what symptoms I should watch out for.

The pulled muscle and the sclerotherapy are unrelated. Use your judgement as to whether to see your family doctor. If it is not resolving, it may be a good idea.

The pulled muscle should heal on its own, and there is no need to return to your doctor unless the symptoms dont resolve as expected. However, if the symptoms seem worse or unusual from an ordinary pulled muscle, I would
follow up with a doctor.

There is no connection between muscle injury and vein issues. If you are concerned about this matter, return to your treating physician or seek the care of your primary care physician.

A follow-up appointment in 2wks is very typical after injections, so there is no harm in going back. I don't see that pulled muscle affecting sclerotherapy much, but it is always wise to have a follow-up anyway.

I don't think your groin pull will have any effect on your sclerotherapy sessions. I would use NSAIDs and heat for your groin pull, coupled with gentile stretching. This may take a few months to heal. I don't think you need to follow up with your provider at this point. If your pain doesn't improve in a month or so, then I would see your provider.

I would recommend evaluation of the groin pain, but I doubt it has any relationship to the sclerotherapy.

It seems unlikely that your muscle or soft tissue pain is related in any way to your sclerotherapy treatment. You state that you had two veins in your calf treated with sclerotherapy, then approximately six weeks later you pulled a muscle in your groin while doing yoga. The correlation between sclerotherapy and your groin pull seems quite improbable. More likely, the soft tissue injury you have incurred while doing yoga is a result of accidental hyperextension in your thigh and groin. You may want to see your primary care provider to follow up on this injury as they would be the far more appropriate practitioner to see for this malady.

I would treat this symptomatically with ibuprofen and wet heat to the area. If this doesn't improve after 10 days, then you should follow up with your physician.

20 years ago I had liquid Sclerotherapy and was bandaged for one month. The veins weregone when removed. Two months after my foam sclerotherapy my veins are still there. I know brown pigmentation takes a while to fade. The only difference is that this time I was only given compression stockings, not tight, to wear for 1 week. I've been wearing my own (stronger) stocking for 7 weeks, but no improvement. I'm very disappointed. Will the veins ever improve?
