I'm confused. Is ELVeS the same thing as EVLT and Endovenous Laser Ablation? They all sound kind of the same in terms of how the procedure is performed.
EVLT and ELVes are essentially the same laser closure of saphenous veins. Each company calls the procedure by a different name so as to distinguish it from the other companies. There are other names for this procedure such as EVLT and if radiofrequency is used, it is called Closure Fast. They all essentially do the same thing.

Yes, it's the same procedure with different brands. The laser ablation can be performed with a variety of lasers. All have very similar long term results. Higher wavelength lasers tend to cause less brusing.

Essentially they are same methods for endovenous laser ablation of
Greater Saphenous Varicosity using at thigh level. Their difference
is in wavelengths. EVLT's wavelength is 810nm, and ELVeS 980nm. In
practice, great majority of physicians believe that the results are
the same (great in most cases) no matter which wavelength is used.
There may be slight differences mentioned by their manufacturers,
which so far have not been too relevant in clinical practice (my
personal opinion).

Yes, the terms can be essentially interchanged.

The ELVeS is a similar procedure to the EVLT. The laser and type of fiber
are different.
The laser emits light at a wavelength that is more absorbed by water and is
associated with less bruising.

The procedures are the same but they use different wave lengths. The
EVLT uses an 810 laser and the ELVes uses a 1470. I have both lasers
in my practice and find that the ELVes is much more gentle, very little
bruising and no pain or inflammation after the procedure. The 1470
works by absorbing water from the vein wall, where the 810 has more of a
cauterizing effect. Both have very good end results and closure rates,
but my patients are happier when we use the 1470
