There are many lasers in the market, and each laser is specialized for certain treatment. I'm not sure what laser you are referring to, but I'm going to explain what is the best treatment for different size veins. I categorize superficial vein in three categories:
1. Large veins (usually more than 5-6 mm)
If there is venous insufficiency in these veins we can get rid of them with different modalities, including:
a. Vein Stripping (not practiced as much)
b. Endovenous ablation treatment (laser or radiofrequency)
c. Ultrasound-guided foam slcerotherapy
2. Medium size veins and tortuous
a. Micro-phlebectomy
b. Ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy
c. Foam or liquid sclerotherapy under vein light
3. Very small veins or spider veins
a. Liquid sclerotherapy
b. Contact laser ie: ND-YAG or IPL ( which i recommend to treat all bigger veins first, then small veins)

I'm afraid cold laser therapy will not be effective on your varicose veins. Varicose veins are a cause of venous insufficiency, which derives from a main venous source. Until the source is treated, direct varicose vein targeted treatments are ineffective.

There is no information of cold laser and varicose veins. Varicose veins are the actual "pressure relief valve" from reflux in the deeper saphenous veins. These are sealed with heat (laser or radiofrequency) and in some countries with foamed injections or "glue." I would be cautious about using cold laser as it is unknown and could possibly cause clotting.

Intense cold laser therapy will not be effective in any significant way, but may afford some pain relief.

It is not an approved benefit to treat veins, nor do we use it in our office. Laser is usually helpful on tiny spider veins.
