Is it OK to take standard multivitamins during schlerotherapy?

Is it alright to take standard multivitamins during schlerotherapy, or will this affect results? (I read that Vitamin E is not good during treatment, and multi-vitamins contain some Vitamin E.)

There should be no problem with you taking a multivitamin before, during and after a sclerotherapy session. While there is some vitamin E in most multivitamins, the amount in a your multivitamin should not cause an anti-platelet effect of any concern.

Well, vitamin E can cause prolonged bleeding, but is only a concern regarding bruising, which goes away after about two weeks.

Multivitamins are OK but you might take ones with no iron. There is a theoretical concern of more issues with hyper-pigmentation with iron supplements.

In our experience we have found that vitamin E and Omega 3 do not affect the outcome for sclerotherapy. In fact, we have successfully treated many patients on blood thinners such as Coumadin. We usually recommend wearing the support hose for a little longer for those people.

Taking standard doses of multivitamin is OK during sclerotherapy, though a large amount of any vitamin is not good for anyone.
