It depends on what type of blockage you are referring to. Blockages in the arteries and veins would, however, be a strong consideration against any intervention and should be discussed with your doctor.

This question cannot be answered without knowing the location of the blockage-artery, vein-superficial or deep. Also, more info is needed on the rest of your leg arterial and venous circulation. I would recommend seeing a vascular surgeon.

It is critical to know what vessel is "blocked" in order to answer. I recommend you discuss this with your vein doctor.

It depends on what you mean by blockage? If the artery is blocked the vein might be necessary for future reconstruction.

If the main femoral vein is blocked it also may not be advisable. If it is the saphenous vein that is blocked in the groin it may be OK to proceed.

Consult your physcian.

It depends on what type of blockage you are referring to. If it is a blockage of a deep vein in the groin, then it would not be advisable.

If your question occurs because there is an old clot or scarring from an old clot blocking flow in the vein at the groin or in the pelvis, you might want to consider seeing a vascular surgeon or interventional radiologist with experience managing this problem. Usually it is more important to manage the obstruction to venous flow before treating reflux.
