My husband has lots of tiny little veins on his nose and cheeks. What are the best ways to treat these, making them look less red and noticeable?
Topical laser or IPL are two very good methods to treat fine facial and nasal veins.

While injection sclerotherapy is by far the most effective treatment for spider veins on the legs, facial vessels and veins respond well to lasers and pulsed light treatments. Our Photoderm and IPL Photofacial treatments have given very outstanding results to our patients with facial redness and vessel issues.

These can be treated with either a laser or IPL (Intense pulsed light). Depending on the severity and the amount he may need more than one treatment.

Yes, certain lasers and light-based systems can effectively treat broken facial vessels or telangiectasias. Pulsed-dye and KTP are the most efficient laser systems or wavelengths that are used for the treatment of vascular lesions. Certain pulsed-light systems may also be effective at treating broken vessels, but are not regarded as efficient or selective as the laser. Multiple treatments may be necessary to completely clear or eliminate the vessel with these modalities.
There is a better alternative treatment available now though for the treatment of those broken and defined linear vessels....it is a process known as Ohmic Thermolysis utilized exclusively with VeinGogh. VeinGogh is highly selective as the pulsed-electrical energy specifically treats or "collapses" the vessel walls without the "interference" of other
chromophores such as melanin and water. This allows Vein Gogh to be used very safely on tan and darker skin types, unlike the competitive laser technologies. Generally, facial vessels can be eliminated in one treatment with very little to no post-operative down-time. While VeinGogh treatments are by no means "pain-less", they are much more
tolerable when compared to the laser as well.

I don't treat facial veins. I would get an opinion from a plastic
surgeon, but I think they use laser to treat facial veins.

Yes, laser and light based therapy is the treatment of choice for facial vascularity.
We offer multiple options for this based on the size, depth and location of the veins to be treated. Options include spot treating with a YAG 1064 laser and laser genesis or IPL for more diffuse redness. Very good results are achieved when done is a series of treatments over several months.

We would treat him using light therapy. We have found that to be the
best treatment for small spider veins, broken capillaries, etc on the
face.
