If your spider vein treatments were on the thighs, it is unlikely to be related to new vein appearance on the lower legs. You should have a thorough evaluation of your saphenous veins by ultrasound and transillumination of the areas underneath the spider vein to look for reticular "feeder" veins. Heredity and female hormone play a more prominent role in development of new veins.

You may have deeper venous problems that an ultrasound might show, ask your practioner.
Stocking use after treatments may help as well.

You should have a venous reflux ultrasound to ensure that there is no underlying reflux which may be contributing to the new vein formation following sclerotherapy. Also, if there are any reticular veins feeding the spiders, they should be treated first. If all of the above is done and the veins recur, then you may have to treat the spiders on a prn basis.
