I had gotten EVLT done on my right and left great saphenous veins. This was in 2009, and since then I am having so much pain on my lower calves and ankles, and i started to see some skin discoloration as well. is there a stem cell treatment for veins?
Not to my knowledge and very unlikely, and even if there was a treatment like that available, it would probably be extremely expensive due to the amount of time and resources it takes to generate stem cells for various treatments.

There are no "stem cells" treatment for venous insufficiency. You need to have a new re-evaluation and treat the venous insufficiency below the knee.

No, there is no stem cell treatment for veins. Gravity is inescapable and chronic venous insufficiency is a chronic, progressive condition which will require new treatment for newly failing veins periodically during one's lifetime. Exercise, maintenance of normal weight, avoidance of prolonged sitting or standing when feasible, and routine daily use of elastic support hose will slow down the progression of venous disease, but will not totally prevent future problems.

There is no stem cell treatment that I am aware of. You should see your doctor, as you may have another problem.

Rather than grasping at the stem cell straw, what you need is another venous insufficiency ultrasound by a reputable and experienced registered vascular technologist who is dedicated to venous disease. There are 5 superficial veins in each leg which can "leak," thus if only the great saphenous vein was closed, you have 4 others which may be part of the problem. There are also connecting veins from the deep system of veins which connect to the skin veins, and these should be investigated as well. Please do not give up.

You should be evaluated by a board-certified (ABMS) vascular surgeon. If you were treated for symptomatic varicose veins, it may be possible that other valves have a similar problems (chronic venous insufficiency). Your symptoms may also be related to arterial problems, which will be evaluated also. No, there isn't stem cell treatment for veins or arteries.

The discomfort probably originates from abnormal veins that were not treated or have developed since the original treatment. The discoloration could be coming from some trapped blood within vessels in that region. Blood that is allowed to collect there will actually start to stain the skin. As far as a stem cell treatment, there is not one that know of at this time.
