Nausea after procedure normal after VNUS closure procedure?

I just had the VNUS closure procedure this AM. Is it normal to feel nauseated and just a little light headed since the procedure?

This would be unusual as there is no conscious sedation or general anesthetic involved. Try to eat lightly, take food with any medications and drink lots fluids. Elevate legs regularly, get up slowly and in stages and walk often. If concerned, call your surgeon.

Occasionally patients experience these symptoms after a closure procedure. It may be a side effect or sensitivity to the tumescent anesthesia. Usually the symptoms will resolve over the course of the day.

Not usually but fairly nonspecific symptoms. I would check with your provider to be safe.

Sedatives and/or narcotics given before the procedure may increase your
chances of nausea. Otherwise it should be uncommon.

Nausea and light headedness are not usual after vein ablation with either VNUS or laser. If you had sedation or pain medicine these may contribute to those symptoms. Also, lidocaine which is in the tumescent anesthesia can lead to these symptoms. You should follow up TODAY with whomever did the procedure.
